HAZ.
Harriet Chomley is an NZ born Australian colour-expressionist artist based in West London. Weaving bold pigment and different textures, she creates vibrant and evocative abstract and still life works in response to both her immediate surroundings and memories of summer climes in the Mediterranean and in the Southern Hemisphere, the heady Tropic of Capricorn.
After studying fashion design, Haz was inspired to further explore the way shapes and colours interact and began focusing more on fine art. Self-taught and with a natural instinct for harmony she works in two very distinct styles which have been crafted over years of dedication to her practice. The act of painting is extremely meditative and allows a heightened state of presence and flow which she finds extremely calming and serene. Although her pieces are made with specific surroundings in mind, she remains highly conscious about how her art relates to the space and the feelings it evokes in those environments.
Currently represented by Wychwood Art Gallery and Ad Lib Gallery in Wimbledon, Haz’s work has been sold worldwide.
